Give a Taurus too many emotions to deal with, and they might feel like they’re drowning.
Taurus is the dependable friend and the “rock” that we can all come to and share our woes with. They keep us grounded. It is in their nature to be the gravity that keeps our feet planted firmly on the ground.
And that is why emotions are a tough struggle for those born under this sign. Unlike earth, the water signs of the zodiac represent the ebb and flow of emotions (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces), which requires us to let go of our roots so that we may get carried away into the vast ocean of emotions that heal us. Because Taurus’s instinct is to plant roots, the feeling of being swept away by their emotions can often feel like they are betraying their nature.
However, balancing earth signs with some water can be a beautiful synergistic combination that can produce many rewards. Plant a seed in the earth and give it some water, and with time, a plant will surface and bear fruit. Adding water to earth allows earth signs to be more in touch with their intuition and emotions, while adding earth to water can give water signs more structure, shape, and solidarity.
On the far end of the spectrum, too much watery emotion can make earth signs feel like they’re drowning, while too much earth can make water signs feel dried out. If the synergy is balanced, the perfect amount of water can make earth signs grow emotionally, and the perfect amount of earth can make water signs feel emotionally stable.
Taurus has a very calm, collected, and stable demeanor that may sometimes come across as uncaring, distant, or even emotionally unavailable, but that doesn’t mean they don’t feel anything at all. They just might have a more challenging time trying to put words to their feelings. Although this is a trait that can be seen across all 3 earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn), it manifests most intensely in Taurus due to this sign being fixed.
When you come across a Taurus, take note of their slow and careful approach to emotions. They may be slow to open up, but they have just as many emotions as the rest of us do, and a lot of love to give.
