Aries might be criticized for possibly being immature, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings or can’t be emotional.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and if we look at the zodiac wheel as one soul experiencing a chapter in life through each sign, Aries represents birth. Like a newborn, Aries energy can sometimes be unrefined, demanding, self-involved, or careless (but remember that your other 2 signs as well as the rest of your natal chart can modify these qualities). Because Aries is the birth of consciousness, those with Aries placements may not possess the natural ability to express their emotions through their words in the same way that they feel them. The result? An emotionally sloppy and confusing individual.
However, that doesn’t mean that Aries people don’t feel emotions the same way the rest of us do. They feel things just about as intensely as anybody else, or maybe perhaps a little more due to their fiery nature (fire signs tend to be more passionate). It’s just a matter of honing their communication skills that can make an Aries more emotionally receptive and understanding.
If this sounds like you, it may help to look at Aries’s sister sign, Libra. Libra is not only an air sign, but is also the social sign of the air signs, which means they have the best grasp on what it means to play nice with others and consider other people’s feelings before taking action. Aries has a tendency to be emotionally impulsive and acts before they think, but Libra does a great job of taking a step back and considering the social impact of their actions before moving forward. Aries may greatly benefit from balancing social consideration with a healthy expression of their emotions. It starts with setting boundaries.
Boundaries with yourself is the key to Aries self-mastery: this boundary must say, “before I act or speak, I will think.” Aries can definitely temper their impulsiveness by enforcing some self-discipline through censorship, but they must set this boundary within themselves to do so.
Are you an Aries? Have you ever been told you were insensitive or had no filter before? How did you resolve it?
