One of the most stereotypical questions asked in astrology, the dramatic flare and demand for attention of Leo is an enigma to many. Although all 3 fire signs (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius) possess similar proactive, bold, and brave qualities, what makes them different is the way that their energy interacts with their environment.
Leo’s energy is social fire, which means that their energy is actually not focused on the self like Aries, but is reactive towards its environment or the people around them. For Leo, this social energy manifests in controlling the way people see them by behaving or appearing a certain way. If Leo feels safe, then they may uphold themselves in a self-assured manner; however, if Leo is threatened by its environment, they may feel the need to be louder, taking drastic measures to make sure they are seen & heard.
It doesn’t have to necessarily “bad” behavior either: Leos are ruled by the sun, so just like the sun is the center of our galaxy that always shines, Leo behaves the same way, albeit socially. They exist unapologetically. Do you remember the kids from drama class that belted out into song during passing period or the dance kids starting a dance-off during lunch time? That’s also big Leo energy. When Leo’s environment boosts their confidence, they have no issues with shining bright and revealing all of their sunshine for the world to bask in. Their optimism is infectious.
Regardless of you’re a Leo or not, the reality is that we may all resonate with the more unbecoming traits of our signs when we don’t feel safe in our environment or our bodies. The melodrama of Leo is a symptom of a person who feels the attention they deserve isn’t being granted. The result? They may try harder than usual to get your attention, which sometimes results in getting in your face just to make sure you see them.
During this past month, you may have had outbursts of emotional displays or have felt like just being “extra.” Thank Leo season for this boldness. Although drama gets a bad rap, always remember that an extra dose of sass is one of the best remedies for low self-esteem.
