Welcome to Virgo season.
The arrival of Virgo brings us focused energy & a solid work ethic. This is a great time to work on any tedious projects or laborious tasks you may have been putting off.
Symbolized by the virgin, Virgo is the perfectionist of the zodiac. Purity is a huge theme for them & those with prominent Virgo placements may find themselves fretting over the smallest details. Virgo doesn’t gloss over anything – in fact, this energy is excellent to tap into when times call for analyzing things underneath a microscope. When you need to perfect something, trust Virgo to leave no detail ignored.
Despite being a perfectionist, Virgo isn’t without its radical & anxious tendencies: when unchecked, Virgo’s desire to make everything unblemished can teeter into obsession. Extreme perfectionism is an unbalanced trait, which stems from unaddressed control issues. Virgo feels safe when they have a sense of control over every aspect of their life, so if they don’t feel in control, the end result is major anxiety. Even worse, if they doubt their ability to produce quality, they may procrastinate due to fear of failure. If this is you, ask yourself why you don’t feel confident in your ability to do well. This is what holds you back.
The key learning lesson for Virgo is found within their sister sign (polar opposite) Pisces, who shines in accepting things as they are, flaws & all. No one is perfect, but if we stop ourselves from trying before we start, we will never know what we are capable of.
Virgo’s sole focus is to find what’s slipping through the cracks & what isn’t working. & while it’s great to have that “manager energy” guiding us through improving ourselves, we must also prevent our egos from taking total control & changing our focus towards perfectionism. As we all know (but always forget), perfectionism is dangerous & leaves no room for mistakes. And when we see mistakes as failures, it can take a toll on both our mental & emotional health.
Virgo is also associated with physical health, so be sure to add regular self-care into your schedule. Schedule that doctor’s appointment you’ve been putting off. Do some yoga. Indulge in a weekly bath. Virgo can easily morph into anxious energy, so make time to unwind & decompress after extensive work sessions. Take breaks – you are not a machine.
Virgo teaches us how to be gentle with ourselves during the self-improvement & healing process: instead of beating ourselves up for neglecting our health or not doing good enough, how can we get to the actual root of the problem so that we aren’t just putting a bandage over a broken window? Virgo’s energy is intentionally highly analytical because it allows us to zoom into things with a microscope & find the elusive issues that normally go unnoticed. Just like the tiny crack on your car windshield, if you ignore it, it will spread, & can eventually shatter. Virgo knows that even the smallest of problems can be dangerous & aren’t meant to be ignored.
Use this time to audit what isn’t working in your life & be gentle with yourself as you find the solution. Sometimes you need a lot of focus & elbow grease, but sometimes you just need to rest so you can return energized & inspired. Don’t assume the answer is always working yourself to the bone.
Over the next few weeks, the Virgo themes we’ll encounter is burning the midnight oil, bringing awareness to anxiety, combating procrastination with empathy, & creating systems for your lifestyle.
How will you make the most of these next few weeks? Virgo knows that we reap what we sow. Choose well.
