While Cancer is associated with the mother & the Divine Feminine, Virgo, the virgin & maiden, is associated with the healing of the Divine Feminine. In many cultures, Virgo is depicted as the Divine Priestess, who wields her sexuality, not to seek material or physical security as the virgin might, but rather as part of a devotional practice to honor the Divine & to help others along their path towards spirituality & health. She does this because she understands the physical body’s relationship to the mind & spirit.
There exists both the Divine Feminine & Divine Masculine, two types of energies we all both possess, regardless of gender we identify as. Masculine energy (yang energy) is characterized by power, energy, dominance, resistance, goals, & assertiveness, whereas feminine energy (yin energy) is characterized by creativity, healing, patience, flow, & intuition.
In our world, patriarchy has taken over through colonization & the westernization of our culture. Masculine energy paved the way for modern society & left no room for feminine energy to cultivate anything. Rampant misogyny & the cultural banishment of feminine traits suppressed the Divine Feminine in us all.
Virgo season encourages the healing of our Divine Feminine. Taking charge of our health across the mental, emotional, spiritual & physical planes gives us a dose of healing from our inner mothers, permitting us access to our creative & intuitive side.
In a world where we praise masculine traits, we have lost balance of both essential energies, which us lead us to things like war, toxic masculinity, the denial of emotion, & denouncing of the arts. To create a better world, we can allow ourselves to reconnect with our Divine Feminine & heal the wounds that society has inflicted. Our Divine Feminine has been suppressed in many ways. She aches inside her cage.
So let her out. Feel your emotions. Create something. Allow yourself to be lead by your intuition. The more you work with your Divine Feminine, you will unlock a style of mobility that allows you to effortlessly flow through things instead of pushing through resistance.
