Welcome to Mars retrograde.
The aspects Mars has been in throughout 2020 have contributed to a lot of friction. And while it’s been an exhausting journey, it’s not all for nothing: sometimes we need a push from the planet of action to spring us forward, especially in places where we’ve become complacent. Social change has been on the world’s back burner for a while, & Mars has finally lit us up to bring these issues to the forefront. But now, it’s time for the warrior to rest.
You may have already felt the incoming effects of Mars retrograde during the 2-week transition period: lack of energy, temperance, focus or discipline. The warrior spirit wanes as Mars stations retrograde.
With Mars retrograde in its rulership of Aries, the tone is as such: our inner warriors may feel bound & shackled, but this is to provide us with the space to reflect on how we confront our world on a daily basis. Where has our energy been going? Has it been mismanaged? Where can we better direct our drive & passion & create an action plan for when Mars stations direct in November?
Some themes to reflect on during Mars retrograde is learning when to walk away from a fight. When to rest & be more selective with where we devote our energy. And tempering our bulletproof mindset so we don’t pile more on our plate than we can handle.
Observe how you deal with anger as well as the others around you do. There are many learning lessons about anger during Mars retrograde, which makes this a good time to work on your conflict resolution skills.
Additionally, themes of sex & intimacy may arise. Do you still feel passionate towards your partner? Has the desire for casual sex has been more tempting lately? Do you feel sexually powerful in your own skin? Think about how you express your carnal desires – sexual energy is a creative energy we can sometimes be careless with.
During Mars retrograde, our fires burn a little dimmer so we can reflect on the power we wield. Mars retrograde is a training ground for us to learn how to sustain ourselves & navigate battle like a true warrior. How we can use our fiery passion & energy constructively instead of continuing to burn ourselves?
