Tonight, the full moon was competing with the 4th of July fireworks for our attention.
Where solar eclipses represent amplified new moon beginnings and a potent time for setting long-term intentions, lunar eclipses occur during a full moon and give us an extraordinary ability & willingness to let go, even more so than during a regular full moon.
With today’s lunar eclipse and full moon in Capricorn, you may have found yourself questioning the sustainability of the changes in our social structures that we’ve been moving towards. How can you use your practical abilities & commit to the resolutions you set during the new moon (example: fighting racism by making antiracism education a part of your regular consumption). The solar eclipse during the new moon two weeks ago set us up for massive long-term changes, so whatever intentions you focused on during that time will remain relevant for an extended period of time.
Tonight also marked the day where all 8 planets in our solar system aligned on one side of the sun. This rare cosmic “parade” won’t happen again until 2161. The timing is uncanny: this is happening during a time of social unrest and revolution (caused by Capricorn & Saturn influence), during Cancer season (sign of the mother & unconditional love), & on Fourth of July, an American holiday celebrating independence. During this lunar eclipse, the universe had a lot of questions for us pertaining to our collective shadow work: How can we provide for our communities as if they were our own family? Do we love the people around us enough to fight for them & create change within our social structures?
2020 so far has felt like a tragic poem for humanity, but these cosmic occurrences are happening to activate and point us towards the path of being our own saviors. In the midst of catastrophe, astrology reminds us that we have the power to navigate through this and make it out on the other side – together.
