It’s the last day of Gemini season 2020. What have you learned so far?
This Gemini season has been a particularly intense one, much like the previous astrological seasons of 2020 so far. This year has been filled with challenging transits which are amplifying every season as we experience them.
For Gemini season, we were rallied into action in pursuit of social justice. The Black Lives Matter movement forced tough conversations within our personal circles and communities, where we collectively faced the covert racism that we were refusing to acknowledge for so long.
We talked with friends. Families. Internet communities. Many of us studied books, watched TV and documentaries, and did endless research on systemic racism and Black oppression in order to better understand it. Mentally, we were at max processing capacity of downloading new information and learning how to actively integrate antiracism in our lives moving forward.
Gemini has a bad reputation for being a “two-faced” sign, but the deeper meaning of Gemini is the development of intellect and insight into understanding duality. In regards to recent events, we were pushed into not only understanding and stopping racism, but also understanding the shadow side of it: where does racist thinking come from and how does it manifest?
Understanding both sides of the equation is what Gemini welcomes you to understand. Gemini is not about being fake – it is about analyzing both sides of a coin to make a better judgment. It is about exploring the side of the coin with no face or superficial beauty and understanding why it exists. It is having the curiosity to mentally explore the facets of humanity that we don’t normally care to look at.
Stay curious. The topic of racism isn’t over. As we move into Cancer season, we will shift from the logical approach of Gemini into the emotional perspective of Cancer. The conversation will continue, but we will be hitting it from a different angle.
